Sandhill crane in Europa

On the 6th of October 2021 this sandhill crane (Grus canadensis) was seen in Tyrnävä in Finland around 3.800 kilometres west of its natural distribuation. Due to strong winds eastern birds can leave their typical routes. Sandhill cranes have been already seen in Europe before. As this crane is not ringed, it is probably a wild bird and not escaped from capitivity. A short video of this crane can be found on YouTube. The distribution map can be found on the website of the International Crane Foundation.
