More than 22.000 cranes are currently resting at the Baltic Sea Coast

© Dr. Günter Nowald

In October cranes are counted synchronously every weekend to record the resting population. In the Darß-Zingster Bodden Chain an Rügen Island, in which the Crane Information Centre is located, 22.000 cranes were counted on the last Weekend. Several thousands of cranes are still expected to arrive from the northern breedings sites soon.

That means, now is the best time to visiti the Crane Information Centre in Groß Mohrdorf (daily open from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm) and the observation station KRANORAMA (daily open from 9 am to 6 pm).
