Here we go again!

1,722 cranes were recorded last weekend during the first synchronous count in the Darß-Zingster Boddenkette and Rügen area. In addition to these native birds, mainly resting cranes from Scandinavia, the Baltic States and Poland will join them in the coming weeks.

Why don't you visit us at the exhibition in the NABU Crane Centre in Groß Mohrdorf? We are open daily and can show you on maps where you can best observe the birds of fortune at the moment: 10.00 - 16.30 - welcome to the centre.

You can find out more about crane resting in Europe here soon: Stop-over information - Europe

We keep the resting figures from Europe as up-to-date as possible. As soon as new numbers are reported by our partners, they will be entered immediately. However, as many counters work on a voluntary basis, the data are usually reported one or two days later. On some counting days, surveys are missing, e.g. due to heavy fog! In many resting areas, the total resting population is only recorded once a week.
