Fascinating bird spectacle at the KRANORAMA

More than 70,000 cranes were still in the region of the Darß-Zingst Bodden chain and the island Rügen according to the synchronously counting on the last weekend. However, a gentle breeze and sunny days tempted some cranes to continue their journey to the Diepholzer Mohrniederung (Germany) or Lac du Der Chantecoq (France). Nevertheless, there are still thousands of cranes in this region.

In addition, many other bird species can be seen, for example at the KRANORAMA. Besides birds of prey like the White-tailed Eagle or Rough-legged Buzzard frequently passing by, many different geese species like Barnacle Goose or Bean Goose are commonly observed between the cranes at the KRANORAMA. Especially fascinating to observe is a flock of up to 3000 ducks, continuously searching for wheat or corn. The flock mainly consists of Mallard, Eurasian Wigeon and Northern Pintail, partly in their pretty full plumage.

If you enjoy watching the bustle of cranes, ducks and geese we would like to welcome you at the KRANORAMA at the Lake Günz (daily opened between 09:00 am and 06:00 pm) and the NABU-Crane Centre in Groß Mohrdorf (daily opened between 09:30 am and 05:30 pm).
