Crane pairs are back!
More and more frequently groups of cranes can be found on stubble fields and meadows searching for food. These are mostly passage migrants, which move on to Scandinavia and to the Baltic States, as well as young, not yet sexually mature birds which can also stay in the area.
The local breeding couples already separate from these groups. They like using areas near their future breeding place.
Thus, the south wind did not only bring spring like weather but also a number of cranes back to the Pomeranian coast in the North of Germany.
