Crane Conservation Project in Bhutan has started

(c) RSPN - Royal Society for the Protection of Nature (Bhutan)

In December 2018 the project "Research and Conservation of Black-necked Cranes in Bhutan" was approved by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU). NABU, Crane Conservation Germany and the Royal Society for the Protection of Nature (RSPN) in Bhutan will work together for research and conservation of the Black-necked cranes (Grus nigrollis), which overwinter in Bhutan. The first field work has just started. Until the 29th of January RSPN and staff of Crane Conservation Germany will amongst others try to mark three cranes with a gps-transmitter in Phobjikha.
